Which AirPods charging case is compatible with my AirPods?

AirPods charging cases are not universal. The safest way to choose a replacement case is to identify your AirPods generation first, then match the case model to that exact family.

Do not choose by shape alone.

Several AirPods cases look very similar. AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are a particularly important example because Apple states that their cases are not interchangeable.

How to find your case model number

Open the charging case and check the information printed on the underside of the lid. You can also identify the case by details such as its charging port, status-light position and speaker or lanyard features.

AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 ANC are different

The standard AirPods 4 case is model A3058. The AirPods 4 with ANC case is model A3059. Apple specifically states that A3058 is only for standard AirPods 4 earbuds and A3059 is only for AirPods 4 with ANC earbuds.

Check the earbuds too

A case model is only part of the compatibility check. Before ordering a replacement, identify the model number printed on the underside of each AirPod and confirm that the earbuds belong to the same generation as the case you are choosing.
